Come spend the day or camp overnight at Liz's Grove, a new site for birders and nature lovers near Dudleyville, Arizona. Liz's Grove connects such major birding areas as The Boyce-Thompson Arboretum, Pinal Peak, San Pedro River riparian area, and the Arivaipa Wilderness. It is considered the heart of the most pristine section of the San Pedro north of I-10.

Note: The land is private but in a conservation easement with Bureau of Land Management. It adjoins The Nature Conservancy's ponds and sanctuary for the Southwestern Willow Flycatcher. We have a great viewing area!

Liz's Grove is an e-Bird hotspot and part of the Tucson Audubon's Lower San Pedro Important Bird Area!

Access

Liz's Grove is a privileged access area.
NO FEES, but a donation is requested.

Facilities

There is an RV park with hookups 5 miles down the road at the Arivaipa turnoff if you want to bring your RV. Call 520-357-7053 for availability.
Liz's Grove has ample parking onsite. There is an undeveloped trail/path to the river. We hope to produce signage, as well as a site map and guide when we have the funds.

Birds

The Lower San Pedro is home to Arizona's largest population of Southwestern Willow Flycatchers, dense nesting populations of Lucy’sWarbler and Bell’s Vireo, and significant populations of Yellow-billed Cuckoo and nesting raptors including Mississippi Kite, Gray Hawk, Common Black-Hawk and Zone-tailed Hawk.
